Well, this is a tradition on my blog, because, like every year, i'm going to show you how the latest episode of Pro Evolution Soccer works on Ubuntu!
It always worked, but i didn't think it could work so well this time!

Could you please tell which packages you installed with wine and which tweaks you set. I watched your video but still game has no sound. I'm playing PES 2013 normally with wine 1.6.
RispondiEliminaBut PES 2015 has no sound and medium, high settings disabled. My system Mobility Radeon HD 4650, Ubuntu 14.04. I played this game under windows smoothly.
Oh well, if you're using Wine you should install d3dx9, dotnet40, vcrun2005, xact. If you haven't got any sounds i think you didn't install xact, which is needed for audio!
EliminaAlso, use the latest Wine engine...
I tried again with Wine 1.7.35 and programs you mentioned and got sound. I installed xact before but it didn't work. Settings show VRAM zero, GPU ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series (PS3.0/VS3.0) N/A. Low setting was only option. Game is skipping frames and slow of course. Performance is not good enough to enjoy. Thanks to open source developers driver I could see it running. AMD left supporting my card. You got me hear game audio at last. I couldn't find any other help on google or winehq . Thank you very much.
RispondiEliminaGlad to hear that. Yeah, i know that ATI Linux support really sucks, that's not a news. In the future, consider buying a GeForce card, which is REALLY more supported. But hey, now at least you can play it and hear sound :)

RispondiEliminaA bit late for comment I see but I'd like to know if you had any problem with controls ? I haven't bought the game yet (waiting for a sale) but my gamepad doesn't work on the demo, and I just can't play with a keyboard

EliminaJust assure you installed xinput (with winetricks) and configured it properly with settings.exe file...

EliminaCiao, ti ringrazio son riuscito a settare i comandi per la tastiera e giocare a tutto schermo!! :) Avevo preso anche un controller un Xbox360 Usb ma è è difficile configuarlo. Lo conosci ?

Is it possible to change the video settings somehow (resolution and quality). Since the game doesn't detect the video card I can't change them.
RispondiEliminaHmm.. Well, i suppose that the game automatically creates a .ini file inside the configuration folder of the game (my documents/Konami/Pro Evolution Soccer 2015/). If there's something inside that folder, you can try to modify it...
EliminaI found a settings.dat in My Documents folder but it can't be edited as a regular text file. Anyway I copied both game folders from my windows partition (where the video card was detected by the game) to the virtual drive and it let me change the settings afterwards when executing it via wine too.
RispondiEliminaAlso the resolution can be changed using http://www.pes-patch.com/2014/11/pes-2015-screen-resolution-tool.html , it runs fine with wine.

EliminaWell, run it through the terminal, and it will show you the error! Or, if you're using PlayOnLinux, there's a "run in debug mode" in the right column of the program...

Oh ok, you installed it through Steam.
EliminaI think you can't open it by clicking directly on it, i think there should be a way to open it through the Steam GUI, but i can't tell you how since i installed it without Steam..
What if you type "wine c:/program files/steam/steamapps/common/pro evolution soccer 2015/settings.exe"?

Con Wine 1.7.34 ho risolto creando un ambiente a 32 bit (altrimenti non si installa il .NET framework). Ho poi installato con winetricks i pacchetti d3dx9, dotnet40, vcrun2005, xact_jun2010. Attenzione a quest'ultimo che è cosa diversa da "xact" (con "xact" non mi funzionava l'audio).
RispondiEliminaPer chi non lo sapesse, l'ambiente a 32 bit si crea con:
WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-x86 winecfg
Dopodichè per usare l'ambiente a 32 bit anzichè l'ambiente standard bisogna premettere a ogni comando di wine la dicitura "WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-x86". Ad esempio, per lanciare winetricks sarà:
WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-x86 winetricks
Oppure per lanciare le opzioni di PES sarà:
WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-x86 wine '/home/<>/.wine-x86/dosdevices/c:/Program Files/Pro Evolution Soccer 2015/Settings.exe'

Ciao! Vorrei chiederti delle info su PES 2016. L'ho installato correttamente su ubuntu 15.10 tramite playonlinux, il gioco parte ma in vram mi da 0 MB e quindi il gioco va a scatti perche posso usare solo la bassa risoluzione. Come posso fare per fargli leggere i valori corretti? ho una scheda video readon HD series 7500 G con 512mb di memoria virtuale.

RispondiEliminaIo avevo il tuo stesso problema con la mia Intel HD3000. Ho risolto aggiornando al branch 1.8.x di Wine.
Comunque a me non andava a scatti, anzi era molto fluido proprio perchè usava risoluzione e dettagli bassi.
Per forzare risoluzioni diverse da quelle che le opzioni di PES ti offrono esiste un apposito tool, reperibile in rete. Ma credo che alzando la risoluzione peggioreresti solo le cose.
Non sono esperto di driver ATI su linux (anche se so che il supporto non è un gran chè). Stai usando i driver proprietari AMD?
